Public Safety

With the trust and endorsement of Sheriff Wayne Woo and fire fighters, Shanti is strongly committed to ensuring well-staffed public safety levels as well as competitive compensation for recruitment and retention of new deputies. She voted to support a new Public Safety Training Center in Placer, aimed at training new recruits, and a Forensic Sciences Lab (Crime Lab)--two things that don't currently exist, but would be beneficial to our community!

Supporting Seniors & Veterans

Shanti is uniquely equipped to help protect and advocate for Placer County’s seniors and veterans. As the mom of a US Army soldier, she's passionate about veterans affairs and the issues that are important to them. In 2024, she served as the Board of Supervisors appointee to the Veterans Advisory Council. In addition, she'll continue to advocate for our seniors so they can live with the safety, dignity, and support they deserve. As a current Supervisor, she is advised on senior issues by the Older Adult Advisory Commission.

Government Transparency & Accountability

Shanti brought forward to the Board of Supervisors a request for an audit of homelessness spending, programs and outcomes, and is committed to continuing that work. She continues to seek inefficiencies in spending that can be addressed.

Advocating for Local Control

In an era where state and federal policies frequently eclipse local governance, the call for local control has never been more critical. Shanti is committed to identifying and championing opportunities where we can assert our local autonomy. This advocacy not only empowers our community but also ensures that our local voices are not drowned out by broader, less tailored mandates.
