Small Business

“I’m dedicated to making life easier for our businesses by streamlining processes, offering incentives to attract quality jobs, and forging strong partnerships with local jurisdictions to boost job growth and create a thriving business climate for our community.”

Simplifying processes where possible:

Sometimes the biggest hindrance for a small business is the bureaucracy and red tape required by government. I fully support simplifying these processes when at all possible to avoid putting roadblocks in front of those who are trying to get a business off the ground.

Incentives for businesses bringing jobs to our region:

I support providing incentives, when fiscally prudent and responsible, to businesses that are bringing jobs to our region. This could include fronting infrastructure costs to later be reimbursed, providing grants or loans, and ensuring that Placer has zoning that can support mixed use, pedestrian-oriented districts and giving preference to local businesses.

Strategic partnering with local jurisdictions:

Placer County has a number of opportunities to partner with its local cities in order to encourage small businesses to settle and grow here. Placer can provide small business support through our Small Business Resource Center in Rocklin, where staff can deliver one-on-one counseling and classes for growing businesses. Being in continual communication with our cities about what needs they see can help ensure we are meeting the needs of our business owners.
