Fiscal Health
“I’m committed to leading our community with integrity, protecting your taxpayer dollars through balanced budgets, driving economic growth, planning for our future, and building strong public-private partnerships.”
Balanced budgets:
The foundation of solid fiscal health is a balanced budget. I firmly believe in zero-based budgeting, spending only what’s available, and ensuring that local government is prudent and conservative with its expenditures.
Generating opportunities for economic development:
If we want great jobs here in Placer County, we need to make our area as business-friendly as possible. I support programs that will incentivize businesses to settle in our area, and believe it is important to partner with local colleges and universities. I’m fully supportive and excited about the CSU, Sacramento satellite campus coming to Placer County, which will eventually provide many opportunities for economic development.
Long term, strategic planning and public-private partnerships
I’m a firm believer in long term planning when it comes to fiscal health. Sometimes it’s necessary to make tough decisions in the short term in order to ensure sustainability in the long term. I also support the utilization of partnerships with local nonprofits when at all possible, as they are much better equipped to meet the needs of the community in an effective, fiscally responsible way.
