This could include fronting infrastructure costs to later be reimbursed, providing grants or loans, and ensuring that Placer has zoning that can support mixed use, pedestrian-oriented districts and giving preference to local businesses.
Strategic partnering with local jurisdictions:
Placer County has a number of opportunities to partner with its local cities in order to encourage small businesses to settle and grow here. Placer can provide small business support through our Small Business Resource Center in Rocklin, where staff can deliver one-on-one counseling and classes for growing businesses. Being in continual communication with our cities about what needs they see can help ensure we are meeting the needs of our business owners.
